It's a blockbuster four-game home stretch to wrap up the first act of this tournament - but what a four-game stretch it is to savour. The last four major tournament winners to hail from Europe are all in the thick of it - you've got to go back to Italy and the 2006 World Cup to not find a major trophy one of these sides have won. But underdogs lurk too, ready to take their shot at destiny - and the stakes couldn't be higher for some. Hungary forward Roland Sallai has been speaking to M4 Sport and - though quite emotional at how close his side came - has nothing but resounding praise for them. “I’m very proud that we performed the way we did, but I’m disappointed at falling short," he says.&nbsp;"We’ve played ever so well. Karim Benzema has also chimed in with TF1 on finally bringing a six-year drought to an end on the international stadium. "I never doubted myself, but I knew there were expectations of me from the country," he says.&nbsp;"I managed to score and I’m going to savour it with everybody."

Didier Deschamps has been speaking to TF1 following his side's draw, and has acknowledged that it was a topsy-turvy challenge not only tonight but throughout Group F on the whole. "It started all over the place," he says.&nbsp;"At the moment when we were best in control, they were close to cracking. "Knowing also what the Hungarians were doing in Germany, they only cracked at the end. It proves that this group was difficult, for everyone. "We finish first, we know what awaits us now, and a new competition begins."

Cristiano Ronaldo has become the all-time top scorer in the World Cup and European Championship&nbsp;combined. The Portugal star scored twice against France from the penalty spot in Wednesday's 2-2 draw at Euro 2020, marking his 20th and 21st goals in the two tournaments. So, with those results from Group F, it is official - England will cross swords with Germany once more at a major international tournament. One of football's defining rivalries will play out for the first time since 2017 in the lower half of the draw - but both may feel that the path to Wembley for the final opens up if they prevail. Elsewhere, reigning champions Portugal face off with hotly-fancied pre-tournament favourites Belgium, while World Cup holders France face Switzerland. Spain versus Croatia, and Wales versus Denmark are just some of the other ties set to be played out over this weekend and the end of June.

The chosen few

So, there you have it! France are the final group stage winner of Euro 2020. Portugal, defending champions, grab a point more than they managed in 2016. Germany are sandwiched in-between them, rescued in the final act, and Hungary... well, they bow out but can do so with their heads held high. So too can Finland, with results officially confirming that they are out of the tournament too.

FRANCE WIN GROUP F, GERMANY FINISH SECOND

Portugal make last-16 in third, Hungary eliminated

It's all over in Budapest too! It's another four-goal draw in Group F - and it means that the placings do not change. France top the pile, Germany come second and Portugal finish third. On a night where, with alarming frequency, one of the latter two looked set to slip out at the expense of Hungary, they have survived the proverbial scare of Euro 2020 so far. They all head on to the knockout stages.

FT: Portugal 2-2 France

For a moment, another spot-kick looked like it was about to pop up in Budapest, after Bruno Fernandes - on off the bench - slashed his leg around a French attacker. The call doesn't come in the end, despite a VAR check, and this one will surely be played out now with little more fanfare.

No penalty to France!

It's all over in Munich - and Germany, unless Portugal can find a winner, will be playing England at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday next week in the last-16. A huge round of applause to Hungary. They have given it everything tonight, have arguably been the better side. But Joachim Low's team played their part too in a cracking game of football and they are the ones who prevail through the share of the spoils.

There's going to be five extra minutes in Budapest meanwhile, and unless Hungary can find a final burst of energy, both sides should be safe in the knowledge that they will be going through to the last-16. This game has dropped off very much, less gung-ho in its propulsion than events in Munich.

It feels weird to coach it in such terms, but surely, so much of the focus has been drawn here given that England's last-16 opponent would hail from here. Over tonight, that opponent has changed more times than it is worth counting but as of this moment, with both games tied at 2-2, it would be Germany who would travel to Wembley next Tuesday. There will be four added minutes in Munich to see if that will change once more.

LEON GORETZKA SQUARES IT FOR GERMANY IN MUNICH! If it wasn't before thanks to that immediate response, then this is the goal that will surely break Hungary's hearts and stamp on their soul. Fired through a crowded box after the visitors can't clear their lines, the Bayern man's shot takes a deflection - just enough to carry it away from&nbsp;Gulacsi, over his leg and into the back of the net. Oh, the agony of football. Germany, elated. Hungary, devestated.

Hearts in mouths! Toni Kroos plays a delightful one-two and somehow pushes his finish across the six-yard area, just begging for a tap-in to turn it in pas the post. Play appears to have slowed slightly in Budapest - have France and Portugal realised that a draw is enough? The latter can only be eliminated if the former win after all.

There will be three winners and one loser in this game tonight, but football has been a resolute victor regardless. The third-place ranking system has come under fire, but boy, has it provided its twists and turns in Group F across Munich and Budapest today. Hungary are still on course for the last-16 though. True pinch-me-I'm-dreaming stuff, this, for the underdogs.

Paul Pogba decides to try his luck from 25 yards and unleashes a shot that is going straight into the top-left corner. The goalkeeper somehow palms it away with an almighty stretch - and then he is there to batter away&nbsp;Antoine Griezmann's follow-up, tight to the right post. Group F has it all!

Patricio to the rescue!

WHAT ON EARTH HAS JUST HAPPENED IN MUNICH?! From pleasure to pain in a heartbeat for Germany and vice versa for Hungary -&nbsp;Andras Schefer has just done the hosts there with what feels like a fluke of a goal! From the restart, Hungary push for it, flick it inside around the centre-circle and then downfield. Germany's defence is caught short,&nbsp;Szalai nudes a throughball downfield and it bounces kindly for his team-mate to throw the low diving header at it, just as the visitors did earlier, and find a way past Neuer! As it stands, Hungary are back in the last-16 after a minute out of it - and Germany are gone!

What a time to score, Kai Havertz! It is an absolute mare from&nbsp;Peter Gulacsi, racing out to field a free-kick into his box and completely missing the ball. It's every keeper's worst nightmare - and he can only watch as it bobbles around a few heads and the Chelsea man knocks it over the goal-line. Germany have drawn level - and with it, have saved their Euro 2020 campaign as it stands. Heartbreak for Hungary.

HE'S ONLY GONE AND TIED IT! CRISTIANO RONALDO IS THE JOINT ALL-TIME INTERNATIONAL GOALSCORER IN MEN'S FOOTBALL HISTORY! The Portuguese skipper, this evergreen figure of world football, the man they call the GOAT, has just added another record to his resume that will only enhance his legacy. He ties Iran legend&nbsp;Ali Daei on 109 goals for his country. The penalty is exactly as before; cool as you like, stuck to the left, and Lloris goes the other way. Portugal are back into the last-16 as it stands.

Just how many penalties can one game give you?! Portugal have another spot-kick now and France are fuming. Cristiano Ronaldo looks to cross from the left and only finds&nbsp;Jules Kounde, who deflects it twice - only for him to make contact with his hand as he tries to see the second off. By the letter of the law, that's comfortably in line with his head, a raised hand as such. Now, Portugal's captain steps up - and he has the chance to tie the all-time international goal record in men's football.

The greasy surface of this pitch at Allianz Arena comes to Hungary's aid now, as it just carries Kai Havertz's touch away from him as he is released into the visitors' box. Leroy Sane gets to put a corner in a moment later and it sails out on the far side for a throw-in, overcooked in dispiriting fashion.

Who saw this scenario coming then? As it stands, Portugal are heading out of Euro 2020, as defending champions, in the group stages. France would be Group F winners, Hungary would finish second and Germany would edge through in third-place, through virtue of a superior head-to-head record with Portugal. Germany, still trailing in Munich, are safe as it stands, but they will surely know that they cannot leave their fortune to events in Budapest.

There is a change in Budapest however and it is&nbsp;Joao Palhinha, on to replace Danilo, who hasn't quite looked right since he got punched in the head by Hugo Lloris. We've resumed at Allianz Arena in Munich, where there has been no changes, and&nbsp;Serge Gnabry almost snaps a response up for the hosts off the bat. It's blocked by staunch defence and Hungary wheel it away. The rain has slowed somewhat; the flash downpour of earlier has still left a slippery mark though.

Given the reputation, the history, the talent... it's hard to think that it won't be France, Portugal and Germany who head through in some formation. But Hungary sit on the cusp of a tournament upset to remember and Fernando Santos and company are not safe yet. They slip behind and they will be suddenly at the foot of Group F. History beckons, either way.

A spot of penalty bingo means that Karim Benzema has cancelled out Cristiano Ronaldo in Budapest - and that Portugal and France are level in the battle to top Group F. Don't you dare go anywhere. This is all set up for a grandstand second half finish across Europe.

One of the biggest - and quite possibly the final - half-time teamtalk of Joachim Low's career as Germany coach is about to hit the proverbial fan. Adam&nbsp;Szalai's diving finish - a wonderful moment of footballing skill - is the difference in a rain-battered Munich. Hungary are excellent value for their lead - but their quality remains undeniably under threat the longer this contest goes on. Have they go the legs?

We're all square in Budapest! Karim Benzema has been waiting since a 2015 friendly against Armenia to score for his country - and now, with the goal begging, he doesn't screw it up. The Real Madrid man clips it to the left as Rui Patricio goes the wrong way, a near-carbon copy of Ronaldo's finish down the opposite end.

You get a penalty! You get a penalty! Everyone gets a penalty! Nelson Semedo, that is foolish. Running onto a looping delivery in his own box, he makes enough contact with Kylian Mbappe that it would have been rude had the Frenchman not decided to drop himself like a sack of potatoes. There's a host of potential spot-kick takers lining up for Les Bleus as Portugal loudly complain, and it's going to be Karim Benzema who gets the shot.

Kai Havertz almost finds a way back for Germany! Hungary have increased an unexpected grip on this game as the weather has worsened but the Chelsea man almost puts his side into the thick of it now. King of the spot-kicks

The weather is suiting Hungary more than Germany right now, that's for sure. Though the crowd in Munich - bolstered by some very noisy away fans - remains booming, even in a half-empty stadium, it is the visitors who are looking more comfortable. They've had three shots in the last few minutes, against none for their hosts. Their midfield is covering a lot of ground.

With that goal then, Portugal are now top of Group F, France are second and Hungary are third, with Germany bidding farewell to Euro 2020. Factor in injury time and there will be about an hour left in this game. Arguably though, this is the run of results England will least want - a last-16 tie with Les Bleus is not a walk in the proverbial park. Should France turn it around and win against Portugal, then it would be Hungary who would come to Wembley for the Three Lions if they beat Germany.

Cool as you like! After a prolonged wait so&nbsp;Danilo can be treated and removed from the penalty area, it is indeed Cristiano Ronaldo who steps up to take it. He goes low to the left, Lloris goes the other way and the Portuguese kingpin rarely misses those. Chalk another one up in pursuit of the all-time international goal record - he's almost there now.

As we wait on that penalty, an update from Munich, where it is getting a bit scrappy. Attila Fiola gets a stern word for a hasty challenge and then Endre Botka picks up the first booking of the game, a yellow card that will rule him out of the last-16 if Hungary get there. It's been raining since just before kick-off in Munich but not enough to quite pass comment. It certainly has opened up now; slippy and soaked underfoot, visibility badly affected.

Oh, no, Hugo Lloris, what have you done there? The Tottenham shotstopper hurls himself off his line as a fairly benign Portugal free-kick is speared in, and promptly makes contact with it about the same time he makes contact with the head of&nbsp;Danilo. Antonio Mateu Lahoz won't hear France's protests. There's going to be a spot-kick and there will be only one man to take it...

A double chance for Germany! With their first corner of the game,&nbsp;Mats Hummels strikes the woodwork and&nbsp;Matthias Ginter nudges the follow-up low, forcing a good stop by&nbsp;Gulacsi. The hosts haven't slowed since this game got going, even with that goal against the wind. There is a long way to go, as the old saying goes.

Germany go close - twice!

Ronaldo tries his luck again, moments after Kylian Mbappe thrashes a shot towards the top corner for Rui Patricio to seize on, and hooks his effort wide to the right. As it stands, Portugal need not panic - they'd be heading to the last-16 with a draw. Should they lose by four goals here however... well, then Finland would be beating them out. It is an unlikely situation, but this is the Fernando Santos side that let four in last time out.

Flying the flag

For the third time at Euro 2020, Germany have gone behind first - and Joachim Low must be getting pretty used to the feeling. This is not in the script. After all the wonderful fanfare and build-up, it is unfancied Hungary who have slipped into the lead here. Remarkably, as things stand, they will be going through to the last-16 in third-place, at the expense of their hosts.

HELLO THERE! Germany have dictated the flow of play since the start but suddenly, with the nagging sense of deja vu, they are behind, cut open by one of the passes of the tournament. Roland Sallai floats down the right wing and lofts a wonderful ball across towards the middle of the hosts' penalty area. Adam&nbsp;Szalai times his run to perfection, shrugs off two defenders and hurls himself at it, his diving header crashing past Manuel Neuer and in at the near post. Absolutely fantastic!

Les Bleus to leap to victory?

It's not taken long for one of the superstars on show to have a shot in Budapest, and it is Cristiano Ronaldo who notches an effort. Hugo Lloris takes it cleanly while Didier Deschamps barks instructions. The latter is looking to become the first man to win both the World Cup and European Championship as a player and a manager.

For the last time for at least one of these nations, the national anthems ring around Budapest and Munich. Today's referees are Spain's&nbsp;Antonio Mateu Lahoz in the former city and Russia's&nbsp;Sergei Karasev in the latter. A pitch invader has got on before the game has even started, racing around at Allianz Arena holding a pride flag during the Hungarian national anthem. The home crowd gave him a very big cheer.

There's not been a blockbuster quite like Portugal versus France in terms of group stage billing. Whether it lives up to it is another thing entirely. The teams are almost ready to emerge.

Given the reputation of their opponents, few gave Marco Rossi and company a fighting chance in Group F - and yet, destiny remains in their own hands when it comes to sealing a last-16 berth at the expense of one of these giants. They were unlucky to suffer a sizable knockout blow against Portugal late on, and richly deserving of that point they took off France. Joachim Low's place in the history of the German national football team is assured regardless of what happens here - but quite how that place is burnished will depend on what he digs out at Euro 2020. Perhaps caught by the expectation as incumbent World Cup holders, France haven't quite set fire to this tournament the way their arsenal of talent suggests they should have done. They played out a cagey, deceptively unflashy opening encounter with Germany, handed victory by an arguably fortunate own goal, before a substandard showing against Hungary allowed the latter to pick up a well-deserved point. Didier Deschamps will expect a response today, against a side his team are superior to on paper - but in the cauldron of Budapest, who is going to come up with the goods?

UEFA have released a statement insisting they "respect the rainbow" in response to the controversy surrounding a proposal to illuminate Allianz Arena with rainbow&nbsp;lighting. Germany had originally planned for the display to take place during the national team's final Group F fixture at Euro 2020 against Hungary on Wednesday as a show of unity towards the&nbsp;LGBTQ+ community. So, who can finish where and who can achieve what? The answer is deceptively straightforward. France are already through, and a win would see them top the table, regardless of Germany and Hungary's result. Germany and Portugal only need a point to go through, while Portugal need to better Germany's result to come second. Hungary go through if they win. Again, everybody got that?

While both sides make tactical swaps in Budapest, it's just the one enforced change between two teams in Munich, where Germany look to back up that win with victory against a Hungary side who could still make the last-16 themselves. Thomas Muller is out injured which means Leroy Sane gets his shot at helping Joachim Low cement a knockout berth this evening. Otherwise, it is the same 21 men who started last time out on Saturday.

We're less than an hour away from what might be the match of the tournament so far, as the reigning Euro 2016 winners face off against their beaten finalists - and incumbent World Cup holders. Lineups will be here shortly, but the big news is that Portugal have dropped Bruno Fernandes to the bench, as part of a double change following that drubbing at the hands of Germany.&nbsp;Joao Moutinho and Renato Sanches both come in. France meanwhile make three swaps;&nbsp;Jules Kounde, Lucas Hernandez and Corentin Tolisso replace&nbsp;Benjamin Pavard, Lucas Digne and Adrien Rabiot.

But if one man may be more chuffed, it could well be&nbsp;Janne Andersson, who theoretically snags an easier last-16 tie with that result. His side showed fine character to hold their nerve and nab the win against Poland's momentum, and he'll know it. They head on with a spring in their step, for sure. Luis Enrique is beaming from ear-to-ear, and why not? He has come under pressure over those first two games but today - against, admittedly, the easiest opponent he should face at Euro 2020 - his side have answered their critics in resounding fashion. Where do they go from here? Why, Copenhagen, for a clash with Croatia of course. More on that to come later...

There you have it then. A rampant display from Luis Enrique's men and an Emil Forsberg double are the picks of the final round of fixtures in Group E - and it is enough to confirm Sweden and Spain will be in the last-16. Defeat for Slovakia by such a margin also has a knock-on effect - it confirms that Ukraine have made the knockout rounds too, by virtue of their superior goal difference. The only side to have completed all their fixtures and not yet be eliminated right now is Finland, who could still make it through if there is a major goal swing in Group F later on this evening.

The final whistle goes in Seville too - and Spain's five-goal blitz is not enough to seal top spot in Group E in the end! Slovakia's Euro 2020 journey comes to an end in cruel fashion. From the moment Martin Dubravka tipped a ball into his own net, the risk of a complete collapse beckoned - and so it proved, as Spain finally got their pent-up need for goals out of their system. La Roja finish second, after those breathless final scenes in Russia.

It's all over in Saint Petersburg! Poland fought and fought, driven by Robert Lewandowski's magic and a never-say-die attitude. But it is a bridge too far for them in the end. They leave Euro 2020 with just the one point to their name. Is it the last time we will see Lewandowski at a major tournament?

Heartbreak for Poland! Absolute deflation for Robert Lewandowski, Paulo Sousa and company. Sweden press deep, determined to not invite them back - and by a stroke of brilliant work on the edge of the opposition box, they tee up the chance to finish it. Viktor Claesson takes it into the box, and drills low to beat the keeper. He wheels away in celebration - it is the goal that sends Sweden back to the top of Group E and breaks Poland's spirit for good.

There will be five added minutes for Robert Lewandowski and company to find something in Saint Petersburg - five minutes for them to write themselves into the nation's sporting history.

Adama Traore is on for his first game of Euro 2020, with the match pretty much said and done in Spain. Let's not kid ourselves, Saint Petersburg is where the drama is right now, not Seville. Back to Russia we go.

Poland have scored two goals for the first time in a single European Championship match. Like any professional wrestler worth their salt, they have risen off the canvas, Undertaker-style, to spoil Sweden's party. That goal means that Spain now go top of Group E too - and for the moment, pushes Sweden into second, for a potential clash with Croatia. Their opponents are still heading home as it stands though - unless they can find one more goal.

LEWANDOWSKI! Hope against hope, Poland fans! There has been a seismic second-half shift in Group E - and it has fallen away from Sweden! Their star man has delivered once more! It's a lovely bit of work to carve out the space in the box for the veteran, and he turns on a dime to slide a low finish past Robin Olsen. What a grandstand finale we have in store!

It's all over in Seville, even if the final whistle is still some distance away, but in Saint Petersburg, Poland are continuing to press for an equaliser. As anyone who ever watched the 1999 UEFA Champions League Final can attest, it is never too late to score two goals. Paulo Sousa's assistant appears to have just been booked for saying something to the officials though. Tensions are rising.

The youngest player in European Championship history,&nbsp;Kacper Kozlowski, has just come on for Poland, in what will be their last game of the tournament as it stands. He took the record from England's Jude Bellingham last week - and by all accounts, he's got a very bright future ahead of him.

Slovakia help them theret this time around with&nbsp;Juraj Kucka providing the last touch after a spate of pinball headers from both sides edges the ball closer to Dubravka's net, before it's finally nodded in, apparently glancing off the defender last. Dreamland for the hosts. Disaster for the visitors. Their Euro 2020 campaign is coming to a brutal end.

A bridge too far?

It's the fabulous foursome for Spain - and Slovakia's dim hopes of a third-place ranking progression are well and truly gone now. Ferran Torres, not long off the bench, turns it in at close-range, a flash of the inside boot after it is squared in&nbsp;Pablo Sarabia following a short corner. Martin Dubravka is having a rotten afternoon now.

Make that a double game, set and match - Sweden are surely heading through as Group E winners now! Another square delivery, another tight finish, but this one isn't messy in the slighest. No, Emil Forsberg has just stroked a smooth rocket into the netting to likely put Poland's hopes of an unlikely last-16 spot to bed. Beautiful stuff!

Robert Lewandowski takes a tumble inside Sweden's six-yard area - but it is him who is deemed to have committed the foul and brought a defender down with him. It's probably the right call but he doesn't look happy with it. Poland's latest chance slips through their fingers like fine grains of sand.
