Latest Copa America Betting: Brazil odds-on favourites for glory ahead of semi-final showdown with Argentina

Neutrals will be hoping for a more entertaining week of Copa America action after just two goals were scored in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

Hosts Brazil dominated Paraguay with 71 per cent possession and 26 shots but were unable to find a way past Los Guaranies, who had Fabian Balbuena sent off after 58 minutes.

Tite’s side eventually won 4-3 on penalties in Porto Alegre and are 888Sport’s 3/4 (1.75) favourites to lift the trophy for the first time since 2007 ahead of their semi-final clash with old rivals Argentina.

The Albiceleste were the only side to find the net in the quarter-finals, easing past Venezuela 2-0 in Rio de Janeiro to reach the last four for the fifth time in the last six editions of the tournament.

However, they have finished as runners up on each of those occasions and are available at 4/1 (5.0) to go one better this time – which would give Lionel Messi his first taste of international glory.

Messi has been on the losing side in four major international finals, three Copa Americas and a World Cup, but looks set to have his work cut out to end that drought this year.

Two of those final defeats have been to Chile and 888Sport offer 7/2 (4.50) that La Roja become the first team to win the competition three times in a row since Argentina, who achieved the feat in 1947.

It is just 4/9 (1.44) that Chile reach the final again ahead of their semi-final showdown with Peru after they edged past Colombia on penalties, who exited the tournament without conceding a goal.

Peru, meanwhile, stunned Uruguay in their shootout after a 0-0 draw following extra time and are available at 9/1 (10.0) to scoop the Copa America crown for the third time in their history.

The top scorer crown is also still up for grabs and 888Sport offer Eduardo Vargas as 4/1 (5.0) favourite, with the Chile striker having netted twice so far.

Barcelona attacker Philippe Coutinho is a 5/1 (6.0) shot after his brace in Brazil’s opener, whilst Lautaro Martinez (8/1), Alexis Sanchez (8/1) and Everton (10/1) are also all tied on two strikes.
