Gyan disagrees with commission of Inquiry recommendation

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has disagreed with recommendations made by the Presidential Commission of Inquiry for the Black Stars’ 2014 World Cup campaign in Brazil.

Following Ghana's poor showing at the tournament which was marred by bonus disagreements and the airlifting over $4 million in cash to Brazil, Justice Senyo Dzamefe's led commission recommended that Gyan must be enrolled in leadership courses to enlighten him on how to deal with issues in the future since he couldn't manage the playing body.

However, Gyan believes that was an unfair proposal, insisting that he has setup many companies in the country even without such programs.

“The Commission of Inquiry wasn’t fair to me at all. I have done my best for Ghana by creating jobs in the country,” Gyan told Hot FM.

“In Ghana, I have employed more than 300 people and I pay them every month, I also pay taxes. So I'm doing my best in improving Ghana’s economy. I haven’t been to a leadership school but I have been doing a lot in the economy," he said.

“When I moved from England to UAE, people said I moved because of money, when I moved to China they said the same thing. I will say the money I got is what I’m investing in the country.

"I have created jobs in the nation. For me the commission's report was not fair to me,” he added.

Gyan, who made his debut for Ghana in 2003, remains the team’s all-time topscorer and most capped player.
