Granada boss looking at positives side of Wakaso's suspension

Coach Tony Adams wants El Grana to rise to the occasion in Friday's league fixture, although they will play without five key men

Granada manager Tony Adams has urged fringe players to show their worth in the absence of some first teamers, including Ghana's Mubarak Wakaso, when they play Sevilla on Friday.

Second from bottom on the table with six matches to go, El Grana hope to pick an unlikely three points at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan to boost their relegation fight in La Liga.

Injuries and suspension will, however, not allow the side fire on all cylinders.

"We have a few injuries as well; Ramos, Foulquier, Kravets. Two suspensions; Ingason and Wakaso," Adams told pressmen.

"But that's a really good opportunity for the other players to come in and enjoy the game, and to try to win the game.

"We saw last week with the Celta Vigo team. I think it's fair to say the substitute team performed very well. They were excellent last week against us.

"So, there's a big chance for the other players. I wish I could play!"

On a half-season loan from Greek giants Panathinaikos, Wakaso has so far made 10 league appearances, scoring once.

Adams recently revealed talks are underway to make the Black Star's loan move permanent in the coming weeks.

Goal understands the outcome of Granada's relegation fight will determine the Ghanaian's decision, with the 26-year-old keen on playing topflight football.
