Australian international midfielder Aaron Mooy is made a name for himself in England, where he was on loan to Huddersfield Town last season from Manchester City before making the switch permanent at the start of this season.
After sparkling in the English Championship last season, he has made a very impressive start in the Premier League as well for the Terriers.
Now the 27-year-old has brought that form to the national team fold as well, helping Australia to a vital 2-1 win over Thailand in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Though the result leaves them with a playoff to negotiate, the win came thanks to efforts from Mooy.
The midfielder even set a group stage record, touching the ball an incredible 156 times during the match and providing the delivery for Tomi Juric’s opener. It was also Mooy's corner which led to Mathew Leckie's winner.
The all-action display from Mooy saw him complete an incredible 108 passes with a 92% accuracy. He created seven chances for his teammates and accounted for 6 recoveries in midfield.
