Ghana FA denies rejecting hotel at Afcon

Ghana FA have refuted reports that the Black Stars rejected their hotel at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Reports were rife in the local media that the players after arriving in Port-Gentil from Dubai, felt disrespected when they checked into their hotel rooms on Saturday and requested for a new facility.

"Ghana did not reject the team hotel allocated by Caf contrary to media reports. The Black Stars are here. Those are fake news," the Ghana FA statement read.

"Ghana have not rejected the training pitch also. The team arrived last night and are yet to observe the pitch, contrary to a media report," the statement added.

Ghana will open their account on Tuesday against Uganda before facing Mali four days later, as they seek to end their 35-year run without a major silverware.
