Full-back Daniel Georgievski will depart Melbourne Victory at the end of the season and join Newcastle Jets for the next two years.
Newcastle revealed they have secured Georgievski's signature on Friday, with the Macedonia international set to link up with the Jets in June ahead of the 2017-18 A-League season.
Georgievski revealed his decision to leave Victory via an Instagram post on Thursday, with the 29-year-old's contract set to expire at the end of June.
The 2014-15 premiership and championship winner has made 79 appearances in all competitions for the Big V.
"To all the Melbourne Victory fans, just want to let you know that this will be my last season at the club," Georgievski wrote.
"You guys have been with me through the good times and the bad and I will never forget it. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you and let's win this championship."
Victory confirmed Georgievski's departure via a statement.
"We accept Daniel's decision, but our collective focus is what we can achieve together this season," coach Kevin Muscat said.
Georgievski joined Victory on a free transfer from Steaua Bucharest in September 2014 and played 21 matches, including the grand final win over Sydney FC, in his first A-League season.
The Sydney-born defender also started in Victory's 2015 FFA Cup triumph against Perth Glory.
Georgievski has been in and out of Muscat's starting line-up this term but has made the left-back spot his own again over the past six matches to reach 19 A-League appearances ahead of Sunday's clash with Wellington Phoenix.
He had never previously played senior football in Australia before joining Victory, having come up through the youth ranks at Marconi and Dinamo Zagreb.
