“Victor Wanyama of Tottenham Hotspurs called on me. I urged him to mentor other young Kenyans to follow his footsteps and lift the standards of football in the country,” said Odinga.

Wanyama, who is currently in the country for a holiday break, took time over the weekend to watch a local tournament organized by fellow Harambee Stars teammate and Girona FC striker, Michael Olunga.

Wanyama is expected to fly back to his base in London on July 7 for a pre-season camp with Tottenham.
