Bobby Motaung: Kaizer Chiefs signed Andriamirado Andrianarimanana and that's final

Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has admitted that signing players from Cosafa Cup tournaments has its challenges.

This comes after Fosa Juniors disputed Andriamirado Andrianarimanana's move to Amakhosi, saying the Soweto giants didn't follow proper channels when signing him.

Dax signed a two-year contract with the Glamour Boys soon after the 2018 Cosafa Cup tournament in Polokwane where he represented Madasgascar.

At the time, Chiefs believed that he was a free agent until Fosa Juniors came forward to claim that the attacker still had an existing contract with them for the next two seasons.

“You know, signing players from the Cosafa Cup can bring about such challenges,” Motaung told SunSport.

Motaung is however, optimistic that the matter will be resolved as soon as the two clubs agree on compensation.

He said Chiefs are aware that Fosa Juniors want money hence they came forward claiming that Dax still belonged to them.

The Amakhosi boss assured the club supporters that they won't pull out of the deal, saying that they have signed Andrianarimanana and that was final.

“And now we find ourselves in the middle of such a situation but it will be resolved once we agree on compensation. We knew when they came up that it had everything to do with money, more than anything else. We signed the player and that is final," Motaung said.

According to Motaung, Chiefs experienced something similar when they signed Collins Mbesuma and Tinashe Nengomasha from Zambia and Zimbabwe respectively.

“This is not the first time that clubs have behaved this way with Chiefs. It happened with Collins Mbesuma and Tenashe Nengomasha too,” he added.

Andrianarimanana is believed to be in camp with the Naturena-based outfit preparing for the new season while the two clubs are still trying to find a solution.

Meanwhile, Chiefs will take part in this year's Maize Cup on the 14th of July alongside Chippa United, Free State Stars and ABC Motsepe outfit Buya Msuthu.

Amakhosi won the pre-season tournament last year, thanks to George Lebese's lone strike against Free State Stars in the final.
