Black Leopards sign former Kaizer Chiefs target Tshwarelo Bereng

Black Leopards have announced the signing of former Kaizer Chiefs target Tshwarelo Bereng.

The attacking midfielder has joined the Limpopo-based side on a free transfer following a successful trial spell.

Bereng was a free agent having been released by Chippa United midway through the 2017/18 campaign.

Lidoda Duvha confirmed the arrival of the skillful player on their official twitter page on Friday morning.

A club statement reads: "Tshwarelo Bereng has put pen to paper on a two-year-deal with a one year option."

Bereng was heavily linked with Chiefs last year whilst still on the books of the Chilli Boys.

However, the Eastern Cape-based side managed to retain the former United FC and Moroka Swallows midfielder's services.

SuperSport United were also said to be interested in signing Bereng at some point, but the proposed deal never materialized.

The well-traveled player struggled for game time under Teboho Moloi at Chippa during the 2017/18 season and he was subsequently released in January 2018.

Bereng, who spent two seasons with the Chilli Boys, will be hoping to establish himself at Leopards and help the team retain its status in the Premier Soccer League (PSL).

The former Cape Town All Stars midfielder will be competing with the likes of Karabo Tshepe and Themba Ndlovu for a place in Joel Masutha's starting line-up.
