Sunday evening saw Eibar beaten comprehensively by Barcelona in La Liga, with the 4-0 victory for the Catalans handing us a healthy winner as we backed Luis Enrique's men to claim victory and keep a clean sheet in the process at 5/4 (2.25).
Eibar's record at home against the biggest teams in the division is poor, losing all eight matches that they have contested against Barca, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
Indeed, the underdogs have conceded 23 goals in those eight games, scoring just once, and it is hard to see them improving that record on Wednesday.
Their 3-0 first-leg loss at the Estadio Vicente Calderon last week means that this quarter-final tie is practically over and it remains to be seen whether manager Jose Mendilibar prioritises the forthcoming league game against Deportivo La Coruna.
For Atletico, they had a 2-2 draw on Sunday afternoon in La Liga in Bilbao and they will feel that scoring a goal early on would be enough to secure their place in the semi-finals. Betfair offer the home side at 29/10 (3.90) while the draw can be backed at 7/2 (3.50) and Atletico are offered at an attractive-looking 9/10 (1.90).
These two sides played at the Estadio Ipurrua just three weeks ago in La Liga, with Atletico winning 2-0 thanks to second-half goals from Saul and Antoine Griezmann. In the end it was relatively comfortable for Los Rojiblancos and, while it was not a stunning performance, Atleti have generally been able to overcome Eibar without too many problems.
The price of 12/5 (3.40) for Atletico to win with a -1 handicap could appeal and is a selection which has paid out in each of their last five meetings between these two sides.
This 12/5 (3.40) selection has also paid out in 14 of the 16 top-flight games that Eibar have contested against La Liga's big three teams (Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid) and looks like a decent value option for Wednesday's game.
