Aduana set sights on 'conquering' Africa on Champions League return

Aduana Stars attacker Bright Adjei says preparations are on course to ensure a successful campaign in this year's Caf Champions League.

The Fire Boys, who made their debut in the elite continental inter-club competition in 2011, are set for a return after lifting the Ghana Premier League title last year.

For their first task, Aduana have been paired against Libyan side Al-Tahaddy in the preliminary round, which hits full gear next month.

“Preparations towards Africa are on a high because during the Christmas and New Year holidays, we were still in camping preparing for the Caf Champions League as well the League," Adjei told Ashh FM.

"If we really want to thrive in the African competition, we really need to work very hard.

“We have so many new players among us who are very good and experienced.

"Their inclusion in the team will be very helpful to our quest to conquer Africa.”

The Confederation of African Football recently announced moving the away fixture to Alexandria, Egypt, owing to the volatile political situation in Libya.

The tie will come off between February 9 and 11, over a week before the return leg in Ghana.
