  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    The Hollywood stars are part of an investor group that comprises several other actors and players, including Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold and golfing superstar Rory McIlroy, that acquired a 24 per cent stake in Alpine for £171 million ($218m) in the spring of 2021. McElhenney has been in Vegas to attend the F1 extravaganza and during his visit, he presented the home and away shirts of the Welsh club, along with his wife Kaitlin Olson, to Gasly and Ocon to introduce a hint of Wrexham into the racing spectacle.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    Alpine racer Ocon sported a fancy Deadpool-branded headgear in Sin City during the race which was presented to him by Ryan Reynolds. The driver finished the race in fourth spot which further boosted the mood in the Alpine entourage.

    The racing franchise shared the delightful moment on Instagram and wrote: "Bringing @wrexham_afc to the #LasVegasGP 😎 Thanks for the shirts, @robmcelhenney 💙#Alpine". Reynolds had earlier gifted a bracelet to Ocon with "Daddy" written on it that he wore during the race.

    Reynolds and McElhenney will now shift their focus back to football, as Wrexham are looking to bounce back to winning ways after a 2-0 defeat to Accrington Stanley. Wrexham have found itself embroiled in a war of words with Accrington chairman, Andy Holt, regarding ticket prices and streaming rights of League Two.
