    The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has been a brand ambassador for the American restaurant and hotel chain since 2021 – with a five-year contract committed to by the Argentine as the Hard Rock franchise celebrated its 50th anniversary.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    It was revealed back in March, while Messi was still mulling over his future options at Paris Saint-Germain, that the ‘Messi burger’ – which consists of two large beef patties served on a brioche bun and a number of toppings, including Hard Rock Cafe’s smoky burger sauce, provolone cheese, caramelized red onion and sliced chorizo – would be made available to restaurant visitors around the world.

    Messi has now helped to unveil the burgers and sandwiches that form part of Hard Rock Cafe’s new kid’s menu, with the 2022 World Cup winner – who is a father of three – involved in the development of those food options before bringing them to the market during a promotional event at Inter Miami’s DRV PNK Stadium. The 36-year-old looked very much the part as he dressed up as a chef.

  • WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

    Jim Allen, CEO of Hard Rock International, has told 7News of partnering with Messi: “Just through who he is and what he represents, and I think it’s something pretty special and we’re very proud to be in this relationship with him.” Hard Rock will be selling kid-sized versions of the chef jacket that Messi wore at the unveling, as well as mini soccer balls, with a portion of the proceedings from those sales going to charity.
