Leeds beat Middlesbrough 1-0 thanks to Daniel James' early goal on Tuesday evening. However, the Championship leaders saw two goals incorrectly ruled out, as Ao Tanaka and Patrick Bamford both had strikes chalked off for what the officials believed were offsides.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Leeds have posted Bamford's goal on X, which clearly shows that the striker timed his run perfectly and was not offside when Wilfried Gnonto sent him through on goal. It was all the more galling for the one-time England international, as he has not scored this season, and the clash with Boro was his 200th appearance in a Leeds shirt. Still, despite Tanaka's tap-in at the back post from a corner also being ruled out, Leeds have moved back to the top of the Championship table, where they sit level on points with second-placed Burnley.

On X, Leeds first posted about Tanaka's goal and shared the video, writing: "Still worth a watch" alongside a shrugging emoji.

Later, posting Bamford's strike, they added: "Another perfectly good goal".
