'I hope they go wild!' - Sarina Wiegman vows Lionesses will chuck the kitchen sink at Scotland in crunch Nations League clash

England kept their hopes alive of qualifying for the Women's Nations League knockout stage by edging out Netherlands 3-2 on Saturday. While Ella Toone's late strike kept the team in the race, they still have to beat Scotland in their final group if they want to make it to the semi-final.

Ahead of the game, manager Sarina Wiegman hoped that her team would go "wild" from the word go and also warned against being cautious.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the game, the Lionesses boss offered up the following when asked if her team would "chuck the kitchen sink" at Scotland: "I hope they go wild from the first minute! But you don’t want to get erratic. We want to be controlled and make the best chances when we’re calm. We’re always thinking of scenarios but it always starts with keeping possession."

Experienced goalkeeper Mary Earps displayed a sloppy performance against the Dutch last time out as she conceded two soft goals in the first half. Thankfully England came back strongly in the second half and clinched a dramatic win.

While the Manchester United star apologised for her poor show, Wiegman came to her defence after the match and asked her not to blame herself for the mistakes.

The reigning Women's Euro champions will have to beat their neighbours and then hope that Belgium somehow stop Netherlands in their final game. France and Spain have already progressed to the knockout stage while the fate of Groups 1 and 3 will be decided on Tuesday.
