The Red Dragons returned to the Football League in record-breaking style last season, with the club’s Hollywood co-owners seeing some return on the faith and funds that they have been pumping into the Welsh outfit.

A positive start has been made to life in League Two, with Phil Parkinson’s side up to second in the table, and there is the promise of more to come as the likes of Paul Mullin work their way back from injury and suspension, while Elliot Lee generates interest from afar with his goal-scoring exploits from midfield.

Wrexham will get the opportunity to further bolster their ranks in the new year, and former England international Carlton Palmer believes more cash will be splashed. He has told Football League World: “Wrexham have found their feet in League Two, five wins in their last six games, taking them up to second place, five points off the league leaders Stockport. Parkinson’s side are genuine automatic promotion contenders, as I predicted before the start of the season. I felt that they just needed to find their feet in this league, make the necessary adjustments and they would kick on. Players in their team who played at a much higher level than League Two and they have owners who have huge resources. I expect them to invest heavily again in the January transfer window, and the win against Gillingham on Saturday was without Paul Mullins and James McClean, that shows you how strong they are looking at present.”

Wrexham have picked up 33 points from 17 games this season and are currently enjoying an 11-game unbeaten run across all competitions – with eight wins collected along the way as they take aim at bouncing straight up into the third tier of English football.
