'We both see this face in our nightmares' - Rob McElhenney issues message to Tom Brady as NFL legend Eli Manning confirmed as Wrexham fan ahead of showdown with Birmingham

Wrexham and Birmingham both boast celebrity owners and will come up against each other on Monday in a 'Hollywood derby' in League One. There will be plenty at stake on the pitch too, with both sides having made strong starts to the new campaign. Wrexham currently top the table with 13 points from four games, while Birmingham are just three points behind and know they will draw level with a win at St Andrew's.

McElhenney is clearly looking forward to the big game and has recruited a new fan for his team in time for the match. The actor has persuaded two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning to root for his team as they come up against NFL legend Brady's side.

The club announced their new super fan on social media with a post that read: "We are honoured that [Eli Manning] has coincidentally, (because Co-chairmen [Rob McElhenney] & [Ryan Reynolds] begged him) joined the @Wrexham_AFC fanbase, just in time for our match over at @TomBrady's @BCFC on Monday night."

McElhenney then replied with a message aimed at Brady: "Tom I’m sure we both see this face in our nightmares but I’m starting to like him."

Manning won the Super Bowl with the New York Giants in 2008 and 2012, beating Brady's New England Patriots on both occasions.

The two teams will head into Monday's eagerly-anticipated with unbeaten records and will both be hoping for another victory to continue their strong starts to the season as they bid for promotion to the Championship.
