Ferdinand is being left angry as he watches Kane’s exploits from afar, with the former Red Devils defender telling his FIVE podcast after seeing Kane net his third hat-trick of the season against Borussia Dortmund on November 4: “His third hat-trick! Every time I see Harry Kane’s name come up with the match ball and a hat-trick, I puke inside my mouth. I’m thinking, why – why?! – did we not go and get him?”

Instead of splashing out on Kane, United snapped up Denmark international striker Rasmus Hojlund for £72m ($89m). The 20-year-old frontman is yet to get going – despite finding the target on five occasions in the Champions League – and is still waiting on his first Premier League goal after making nine appearances in the English top-flight.
