Mary Earps staying at Man Utd? Arsenal lose interest in Lionesses star and target Alisha Lehmann's Aston Villa team-mate Daphne van Domselaar

During the World Cup last summer, Arsenal attempted to sign England's No. 1 goalkeeper, but Manchester United turned them down. As per The Telegraph, Arsenal may now be losing interest in signing Earps as they have turned their attentions to signing Aston Villa's Daphne van Domselaar instead.

Van Domselaar's contract has a £200,000 release clause, and according to insiders, Arsenal have made the 24-year-old a top priority for their summer transfer window. The Dutch shot-stopper is regarded as one of the most talented in the sport right now and has been touted to become one of the best in the world. She signed a three-year deal with Aston Villa last year after leaving FC Twente and has been enjoying life in the Women's Super League with the Villans.

Speaking to The Telegraph in February, the Dutch shot-stopper said: "I am really happy with my choice to join Aston Villa and join the WSL, which is the best league in the world. There’s a lot of potential in the team and I’m happy where I am right now. It’s a good team."

The futures of both players are likely to become clearer over the next few months. A decision will certainly need to be made regarding Earps as the stopper's Manchester United contract expires at the end of the season.
