  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    WHAT TEN HAG SAID

"The one we are pleased to have is the return of Christian Eriksen in the squad. We also have doubts; we had some illness in the week, so we will have to see how they recover tomorrow," Ten Hag said at a press conference. "But one thing is sure, we will put a good line-up on the pitch and we have to win the game."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Eriksen had featured regularly for Ten Hag this season, making 11 Premier League appearances before he sustained his latest injury. Six of those games were from the start, with the other five coming as substitute appearances. The return of the 31-year-old will be a relief for Ten Hag amid constant injury concerns for his team this season. They are still without the likes of Casemiro, Mason Mount, Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire, Tyrell Malacia and Amad Diallo, while Diogo Dalot will be absent due to suspension.

    WHAT NEXT FOR UNITED?

Eriksen will likely play a part when United visit West Ham in London on Saturday, even if it is from the bench. The Red Devils have not won in their last three matches and head into the weekend's game in seventh place in the Premier League - one point above their weekend opponents.
