Lionel Messi & wife Antonela Roccuzzo dress to the nines for David Beckham's lavish early 50th birthday party as NFL & NBA icons Tom Brady & Shaquille O'Neal join a host of other Inter Miami superstars to celebrate with MLS club's co-owner

The Manchester United and England legend will clock up a half-century on May 2. With a busy schedule to contend with, as co-owner of MLS side Inter Miami, the former Real Madrid ‘Galactico’ has taken in early celebrations.

They have taken place in the United States, with a number of A-list celebrities joining the glitzy bash. Unsurprisingly, Inter Miami captain Messi formed part of the guest list alongside his wife Antonela, with team-mates Jordi Alba, Serio Busquets and Luis Suarez also in attendance. NFL and NBA icons Brady and O’Neal also suited up for an evening in distinguished company.

Messi and Antonela dressed up for the occasion, which was a very formal affair, and mingled with the Beckham family in Florida – with David’s partner Victoria in attendance alongside three of their children, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.

Beckham enjoyed time spent with close family and friends, posting on social media: "So I thought I'd start celebrating slightly early , such a special night in Miami. So lucky to have amazing friends and family to start the 50th celebrations."

After making the most of an opportunity to relax away from the stresses of their day jobs, Messi and Beckham will turn their attention back to professional matters on Wednesday when Inter Miami take in the first leg of a CONCACAF Champions Cup quarter-final clash with LAFC in California.
