The City captain's signing has been made a top priority for Milan in the January transfer window and while he is eager to make the switch, Calciomercato reports that the Serie A side are instead proposing a loan move. The Rossoneri are willing to pay âŹ1 million up front for the loan, but will have the option to buy him outright in the summer for around âŹ5m.
The 34-year-old's contract with City runs until 2026, meaning he could be back in the Premier League if Milan decide against signing him on a permanent basis in the summer.
