  • WHAT HAPPENED?

As part of a promotional campaign for the Club World Cup this summer, Harry Kane has been pictured preparing for a boxing match ahead Bayern Munich's post-season fixtures in North America.

In a series of photos uploaded to broadcaster DAZN's Instagram account, the England captain is pictured being put through his paces in a boxing scenario. Each image is accompanied with details of one of Bayern's group-stage fixtures for the tournament, that seems them take on Auckland City, Boca Juniors and Benfica.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The use of the boxing theme is effective and clearly shows how seriously Kane and the German champions are taking the new-look competition this summer. Used as a clever metaphor, the series of images also accurately reflect the training and effort Kane is putting in for the tournament, having jetted straight out to North America following England's defeat to Senegal on June 10.

  • WHAT KANE SAID

Kane captioned the post: "I can’t wait to get our FIFA Club World Cup journey started," adding a boxing glove and fire emoji. Continuing with the boxing theme, he ended his caption with the hashtag "Undisputed".

In the comments section of the post, one user said: "You took marketing in football to the next level. Give your marketing team a raise."

  • WHAT NEXT FOR KANE?

Kane and Bayern kick-off their Club World Cup campaign against New Zealand's Auckland City on June 15. Vincent Kompany's side then have further group-stage fixtures on June 21 and June 24. The knock-out stage begins on June 28, with the final taking place on July 13.
