Bayern were left shocked by how the opening 45 minutes panned out. Benjamin Sesko handed Leipzig the early lead just 11 minutes into the contest at Red Bull Arena, capitalising on a slip from Bayern goalkeeper Jonas Urbig and curling in from distance. Leipzig were happy to cede possession and attack on the break, while a set-piece handed them a second - David Raum's free-kick was headed in by Lukas Klostermann.
But this was a cliched game of two halves. Bayern came out a different team and drew level in the blink of an eye just after the hour mark. Eric Dier nodded in Michael Olise's corner, and then within seconds, Olise himself fired in from the edge of the box. From there, Bayern were chasing the goal that would make them champions and Konrad Laimer missed a glorious chance as his header flew over.
Leroy Sane thought he'd won it for Bayern, and by extension the title, after being played in by Joshua Kimmich. But a stoppage-time dink from Leipzig legend Yussuf Poulsen saw it end 3-3 and cut Bavarian celebrations short before they had begun.
