    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kane has scored a whopping 33 goals in 33 games in all competitions this season following his summer transfer from Tottenham. And fellow England international Dier, who joined Bayern on loan from Spurs in January, has compared the striker's clinical edge to Inter Miami star and Argentine World Cup winner Messi.

    WHAT ERIC DIER SAID

He told The Times: "Harry’s the best finisher in the world. Aside from [Lionel] Messi, I don’t know if there’s a better left-footed finisher, even from a left-footed player, than Harry. And there’s his hold-up play, very good in the air, awareness and the way he turns especially when he’s on the left side of the pitch and turns inside on to his right foot.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Despite all of Kane's goals this season, Bayern have struggled this campaign. They are 10 points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen, are out of the DFB-Pokal cup, and their last hope of silverware is in the Champions League - where they are into the quarter-finals. If they don't win that, the Bavarians could be in for their first trophyless season since 2011/12.
