    WHAT HAPPENED?

The former Manchester United midfielder has struggled to adapt to his surroundings in Korea, with an update on Tuesday revealing a fresh hurdle to overcome. Lingard shared videos of him undergoing electrotherapy as he recovers from a knee issue sustained late last month. He hasn't played for FC Seoul since March 16 as a result of said injury.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Despite the risk of another injury-ravaged campaign, it isn't just fitness problems that have hampered Lingard's start to life in Korea. FC Seoul boss Kim Gi-dong has repeatedly slammed the midfielder's work ethic, with his most recent comments suggesting Lingard "isn't a footballer" due to his lack of effort, even threatening his first-team exile as a result. Of the games he has played in, the Englishman has made more headlines for his reckless challenges than meaningful contributions. He's picked up two yellow cards in three games for FC Seoul but is yet to register a goal or assist.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Despite his disappointing start, Lingard has already become a sensation in Korea. Fans reportedly queued up for four hours to buy his FC Seoul shirt, with tickets to his debut selling out in under three minutes.

    WHAT NEXT FOR LINGARD?

There is no known timeframe for Lingard's return from injury, but his comments regarding a "minor setback" suggest he shouldn't be out for too long. He will, however, miss FC Seoul's next match, which comes later on Tuesday against second-placed Gimcheon Sangmu.
