    The 34-year-old has been without a club since leaving Montpellier by mutual consent last November. Sakho has been on the lookout for a new team and now the ex-Paris Saint-Germain defender will link up with former Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean at Torpedo. It is clear they have big plans for the former France international.

    The Georgian side's Instagram post reads: "Mamadou Sakho’s Contract Has Been Agreed. After playing for Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, Crystal Palace, and Montpellier, Mamadou Sakho will now join Torpedo Kutaisi. Mamadou Sakho and Torpedo Kutaisi negotiated on all aspects of his transfer. The player will not only help Torpedo Kutaisi win trophies, but he will also serve as an ambassador to the international football community. He will be involved in the development of Torpedo Academy, serving as a mentor to young players and ensuring their professional growth."

    The former Crystal Palace man has reportedly been offered a two-year deal, with the option of a third season. The Georgian side are hoping Sakho's arrival, which is arguably the Erovnuli Liga's most high profile transfer of all time, will attract other big-name players to the division.
