Ethan Nwaneri forced to 'hand in homework 24 hours after Arsenal debut' - but 18-year-old is now finally allowed to get dressed in Gunners' changing room

Nwaneri became the youngest player in Premier League history aged just 15 years and 181 days when he came on in the dying minutes of a 3-0 win against Brentford in September 2022. The following day, he had to submit his GCSE English homework.

His teacher, Elle Bewley, told The Sun: “I'm not joking, he just walked into school on Monday, gave me his homework, sat down and got on with it. No discussion, no distraction. Nothing.”

The cameo against Brentford was Nwaneri's only senior appearance that season and he made one more in the 2023-24 campaign. This season, though, Mikel Arteta has called on him regularly, handing the teenager 29 appearances in all competitions.

Due to his age, Nwaneri was prevented from using the same dressing room as his Arsenal team-mates, but that changed on Friday when he turned 18.

Nwaneri earned his first call-up to the England Under-21 squad for their friendly matches against France and Portugal.
