David Beckham has sent a “great comeback win” message to Inter Miami after seeing them beat the Philadelphia Union with nine men and no Lionel Messi.

Inter Miami trailed early during their visit to Philadelphia, before seeing Julian Gressel restore parity two minutes into the second half. The Herons then had David Ruiz and Tomas Aviles sent off before snatching a 94th-minute winner through Leo Afonso.

Co-owner Beckham is among those to have been left singing the praises of a spirited squad that have shown that they can cope with Messi and pull together in order to overcome any challenge. Manchester United and England legend Beckham has said on social media: “Great comeback win. Fight until the very end.”
