Who has Croatia boss Zlatko Dalic picked for the World Cup 2022 in Qatar?

Losing 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia will hope to go one step further when they get on the plane to Qatar for their third consecutive World Cup appearance.

Decorated midfielder Luka Modric remains the team's skipper and having missed out on the trophy last time around, the Real Madrid star will be hoping to come back home with the iconic trophy this time around.

Croatia will have to deal with Belgium, Morocco and Canada first in Group F, though, with the African representatives their first opponents on November 23.

Zlatko Dalic's squad feature familiar faces such as Modric, Andrej Kramaric, Ivan Perisic and Mateo Kovacic. Let us take a look at the 26 players that are set to travel to Doha.

  • Dominik Livakovic Kroatien

Dominik Livakovic seems to be Dalic's first-choice at the moment and that's unlikely to change in the World Cup.

Ivica Ivusic and Atletico Madrid's Ivo Grbic have been named as the two other options.

The experience of Dejan Lovren and Domagoj Vida will come in handy for Zlatko Dalic at the 2022 World Cup, while Josip Juranovic and Borna Barisic will further infuse experience to the backline.

The likes of Josko Gvardiol and Josip Stanisic represent the future of Croatia, and could very well be making an impact in Qatar already.

Skipper Luka Modric, Mateo Kovacic and Marcelo Brozovic will most likely form the midfield trio in Dalic's Croatia XI.

It is up to others, such as Nikola Vlasic and Mario Pasalic, to fight for their spots in the lineup in case Dalic rests one of his first-choice midfielders.

Croatia's midfield looks more or less set for the World Cup and it's unlikely that anyone else will have a crack at it.

Red Bull Salzburg youngster Luka Sucic is one to watch, having impressed at club level this term.

Ivan Perisic and Andrej Kramaric will already be dreaming of creating and converting chances at the World Cup as the go-to players in attack for Croatia.

Ante Budimir will also be hoping to be part of the team's attack in Qatar, while the goalscoring form of Dinamo Zagreb's Mislav Orsic, who was impressive against Chelsea in the Champions League, is also worth keeping an eye on.

Dominik Livakovic is likely to guard the goal in front of the defence constituted by Josip Juranovic, Dejan Lovren, Josko Gvardiol and Borna Sosa.

The solid midfield will be a trident featuring Marcelo Brozovic, Luka Modric and Mateo Kovacic.

Andrej Kramaric could be the man to lead the line, with help from Mario Pasalic and Ivan Perisic on the flanks.

Croatia XI (4-3-3): Livakovic; Juranovic, Lovren, Gvardiol, Sosa; Brozovic, Modric, Kovacic; Pasalic, Kramaric, Perisic.
