Cristiano Ronaldo's former agent Jorge Mendes recommends shock Chelsea manager candidate to Todd Boehly after Mauricio Pochettino exit

The agent, who previously represented Al-Nassr superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, has formed a close relationship with Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly, according to a report from The Mirror, and has suggested to the American that Conceicao would be a good option to appoint as the next Blues boss.

Chelsea are in the market for a new manager after Pochettino's departure by mutual consent was announced on Tuesday. The Argentine has left after just one season in charge, despite delivering European qualification after a strong end to the season in which they won five consecutive games.

Conceicao, 49, took charge of Porto seven years ago and is contracted to the club until 2028. The former Portugal player has won three league titles as the club's manager and lifted the Taca de Portugal on three occasions, too. He has also been linked with the AC Milan job this summer.

The Blues will start talks with candidates to replace Pochettino at Stamford Bridge, with Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna said to be among the options. However, Thomas Tuchel has also been linked with a move back to the London club and Stuttgart's Sebastian Hoeness is seen as a candidate, too.
