Sporting announced the release of the kit, a black shirt designed with a gold number seven on the front, on social media with an advert that included Ronaldo's son modelling the new shirt. The club want to encourage the next generation to aspire to be like Ronaldo and by wearing the new shirt, they could fulfil that legacy. The club said: "There are numbers that leave a Legacy: the next 7 could be you."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Ronaldo came through the Sporting academy and broke into the first team before joining Manchester United. The Portuguese captain went on to shine at United before becoming a superstar and the top goalscorer ever at Real Madrid. Ronaldo has not stopped scoring, wherever he has played, including Juventus, a return to United and then a switch to Al-Nassr where he plays now.
DID YOU KNOW?
This is not the first time Sporting have honoured the Portuguese great. They also released a CR7-inspired kit in 2022/23 that crowned Ronaldo as the 'best in the world. The club are keen to maintain their connection to the five-time Ballon d'Or winner and only strengthen that with yet another Ronaldo kit, modelled by his son.
