Chelsea are plotting a summer transfer bid for the 24-year-old, according to <a href="https://ge.globo.com/pr/blogs/blog-da-nadja/post/2024/03/27/titularidade-na-selecao-brasileira-valoriza-bento-e-gigantes-da-europa-ja-procuram-o-athletico.ghtml" target="_blank">Globo Esporte</a>. However, Inter, Benfica, Wolves and Nottingham Forest are all reported to be in the frame to sign the shot-stopper in the summer.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The race to sign Bento is heating up, the report claims, as Athletico and the player's agent have received enquiries about his contract. His representative will meet with the Brazilian club in the coming days to discuss his situation. Having already rejected €15 million (£13m/$16m) offers for him, the Serie A side will demand significantly more for Bento, who came through the club's youth academy to become a first-team star.

Bento was praised after making his Brazil debut against England last week in the absence of Ederson and Alisson. He has already made 149 appearances fo Athletico since making his senior debut for the club in 2020.
