    Monday marked the anniversary of the South American nation's final victory against France, in which Messi scored twice as the two teams played out a 3-3 draw over 120 minutes in Qatar, taking the decisive clash to a penalty shootout which Argentina won 4-2.

    Messi took to social media to commemorate their first World Cup win since 1986. He wrote on an Instagram post: "One year of the most beautiful craziness of my career. Unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime. Happy anniversary to everyone!!!"

    The 36-year-old was the star for Argentina as they went on to secure the third world crown in their history, despite losing 2-1 to Saudi Arabia in their first game of the competition. Messi scored seven goals overall, including two in the final, and finished a goal behind top scorer Kylian Mbappe, who fired in three goals against Argentina.
