Barcelona came back from behind to outclass their arch-rivals Real Madrid 5-2 on Sunday as they reclaimed the Spanish Super Cup title in Jeddah. Their celebrations were, however, marred by an injury setback as central defender Inigo Martinez has been ruled out for five weeks, according to Diario AS' Javi Miguel Club.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Martinez was substituted in the 28th minute of the match as Ronald Araujo took his place in the backline. The report adds that the Spaniard has suffered a tear in the femoral biceps of his right leg and will be sidelined on a long-term basis. The 33-year-old Spain international has been an integral part of Hansi Flick's side in the 2024-25 campaign, having made 27 appearances across all competitions.
The Catalan giants will return to Spain now and will be back in action on Wednesday as they take on Real Betis in a Copa del Rey round of 16 clash at home.
