Both parties are largely aligned on terms, and Kane's family are settled in Munich. The deal would put to rest any speculation linking him to a Premier League return or Barcelona, and it underlines his ambition to win the Champions League with the club. He has scored 146 goals across all competitions since joining from Tottenham in 2023.

The squad picture is more complicated. Alphonso Davies faces a genuine fight for his starting spot after Nathaniel Brown, signed for 50 million euros from Eintracht Frankfurt, impressed during the Asia tour while Davies continues his recovery from injury.
