Premier League Betting Tips: Stats suggest Arsenal's away struggles will continue at Newcastle

It would be easy to look at the history of the Newcastle versus Arsenal fixture and assume that this one will be a straightforward win for the Londoners.

The Gunners have won 10 straight Premier League matches against Newcastle, conceding just six goals in that span whilst netting 23.

However, those results are in the past now and, interestingly, only six players remain from the the starting eleven that last won at St. James’ Park back in August 2015.

Newcastle to defy odds?

Domestically, Newcastle have been the better team since the turn of the year, recording more points, more clean sheets, and conceding fewer goals than Arsene Wenger's men.

The one obvious exception there is actually scoring, which Arsenal have done nine more times since January 1, but five of the six matches in which they have failed to net this season have come away from the Emirates.

Newcastle are likely to find the goal as well, having now struck in four of their last five matches and in each of their last six at home.

Goals galore?

Add to that the fact that Arsenal have not kept an away clean sheet since December, and the 6/10 (1.60) play on both teams to score at dabblebet looks fairly safe.

For those looking for longer odds, a draw at 12/5 (3.40) is certainly not out of the question as it seems likely that neither side will keep a clean sheet.

The best bet for stats lovers, though, is Newcastle 0.5 on the Asian Handicap market at 3/4 (1.75).

This prevents you from having to wholly commit to Newcastle winning but acknowledges their recent form and Arsenal’s struggles outside of London. This bet will pay out so long as the home side avoids defeat.
