Juventus closely monitoring Valencia starlet Ferran Torres

Juventus are considering an approach for teenage Valencia winger Ferran Torres, but would face a €100million (£86m/$111m) buy-out clause to bring him to Turin.

The Bianconeri are unbeaten so far in Serie A this season after a dozen games, with Maurizio Sarri's side holding a slender lead over main challengers Inter heading into November's international break.

However, Goal can confirm that Juve are already looking to the future in order to bolster their ranks and have been observing the highly-rated Torres as he continues to build on last year's breakout season.

The 19-year-old, who was an unused substitute in Los Che's Copa del Rey triumph over Barcelona in May, has already made as many starts in La Liga in 2019-20 as he did in the previous campaign altogether.

He has seen his opportunities increased with the arrival of new coach Albert Celades, who succeeded Marcelino at Mestalla in September, and has repaid the faith shown in him with goals against Granada and Lille, the latter of which came in the Champions League.

Torres' form has also seen him earn a call-up to Spain's Under-21 side for their most recent spate of fixtures, where he was named in the starting line-up for Thursday's 3-0 win over North Macedonia.

Valencia will be unlikely to let him leave for Italy without a fight, however, with the player's current deal running until June 2021.

As such, Juventus may be forced to barter for a lower asking price if they do not wish to meet the club's initial demands.

Torres, meanwhile, will be expected to feature when Spain's U21 side play once again later this month, against Israel on Tuesday in Tel Aviv.

He could yet face his potential suitors later this season if both Valencia and Juventus were to progress beyond the group stages of the Champions League, though the former currently find themselves locked in a tight battle with Ajax and Chelsea to reach the round of-16.

Another youngster being followed by the Old Lady is Verona defender Marash Kumbulla, with the Serie A leaders having been impressed by the performances of the 19-year-old centre-back this season.

It marks a change in approach from the Italian champions, who have concentrated more on top-end talent in recent transfer windows, bringing in the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Matthijs de Ligt.

With a solid squad now at Sarri's disposal, however, the club appear now to be focusing more on young prospects.
