Leroy Sane achieves Manchester City first with West Ham strike

Manchester City attacker Leroy Sane reached a landmark figure on Sunday against West Ham.

In scoring his side’s opener, the Germany international forward became the first City player to notch doubles in both goals and assists in the Premier League era.

Certainly, there was some degree of fortune with the way the 22-year-old’s shot skimmed off Patrice Evra and into the home net, yet he has enjoyed a terrific season for Pep Guardiola’s side.

His effort, which arrived in the 13th minute of the match, also meant that it was the first time that the City man had reached double figures in goals in a league season in his career.

Sane narrowly beat Raheem Sterling to the achievement of getting a 'double-double'. The England man's assist for Fernandinho - his side's fourth goal of the game - got him to the mark.

This is Sane’s second season in England, where he notched five Premier League goals and five assists last time around.

In all competitions this term, he has achieved a total of 14 goals and 16 assists from 45 matches.

Pep Guardiola’s side have dominated in England this season, having won the league with five matches to spare.
