Match between India's Group A rivals Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar postponed

The AFC Asian Cup qualifier between Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar in Group A has been postponed, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced on Monday.

The match, which was scheduled to take place later today in Bishkek, has been decided to move to a later date due to increased security concerns as advised by the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic to the nation's football federation.

"The AFC has decided to postpone the match following this advice to protect safety and security which can never be compromised and will now discuss the situation with the relevant AFC Committees." read a statement issued on the official website of the AFC.

The shift in date means that India's game against Macau will be the only Group A qualifier today. Myanmar and the Kyrgyz Republic are yet to face each other in Group A and the game in Myanmar is scheduled to take place on October 10 at Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon.

India tops the Group A table with a 100 percent record after two games following wins over Myanmar and the Kyrgyz Republic.

Myanmar and the Kyrgyz Republic, meanwhile, sit three points adrift tied for second place due to their wins over India's opponents for the day Macau, who hasn't been able to register points on the board yet.
