Olivier Giroud confirms he is MLS bound as ex-Arsenal & Chelsea striker announces AC Milan exit in emotional message

<p>The legendary France striker confirmed he is departing Milan after nearly four years with the Rossoneri, having joined them in the summer of 2021 from Chelsea. The 38-year-old confirmed that MLS is his next destination and, although he did not name where, he has been continually linked with a <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/olivier-giroud-mls-ac-milan-summer-move-lafc/blt001982eff66a5cad" target="_blank">move to LAFC</a>.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Giroud had a phenomenal campaign for the Rossoneri in 2023-24, netting 14 goals and notching eight assists in Serie A. He will be a major addition to LAFC this summer, who have yet to fill the void that former MLS MVP Carlos Vela left after departing as a free agent last summer. Giroud will play alongside <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/mls-lafs-denis-bouanga-golden-boot/blt21d7d8a263a23aec" target="_blank">2023 MLS Golden Boot winner Denis Bouanga</a>, and immediately create one of the most lethal attacking partnerships in the league. He'll also link up with longtime friend and former France international <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/mls-lafc-advanced-talks-for-tottenham-and-france-international-goalkeeper-hugo-lloris/blt69c8d1125b926e41" target="_blank">Hugo Lloris in Los Angeles.</a></p>
