Atletico Madrid's Maxi Rodriguez Announces Liverpool Move To Team-Mates

Maxi's stint in Spain is drawing to a close...

With just a matter of hours left before Maxi Rodriguez's winter move from Atletico de Madrid to Liverpool is completed, the Argentinian winger has confirmed his imminent move to those team-mates not called up for Atletico's Copa del Rey match at Recreativo Huelva.

As reported by Marca, the agreement between the Spanish and English clubs is already in place and the Reds will pay a fee of around €1.5 million for the Argentine's services. Maxi has been at Atletico since 2005, later acting as the team's captain.

It is anticipated that Lanus star Eduardo Salvio will be pursued as a replacement for Maxi as the young Argentinian forward is very highly rated by Atleti coach Quique Sanchez Flores.

Atletico have reportedly negotiated an agreement with Lanus for the player, in a deal worth €8m.
