Freddy Adu Eagerly Anticipating Aris Thessaloniki Debut

The American youngster can hardly wait to make his debut for Aris...
Portuguese giants Benfica opted to farm young attacker Freddy Adu out on loan to Belenenses at the beginning of the season, but the Liga Sagres side terminated Adu's loan deal during the winter break.

Adu didn't waste any time in finding a new club though and signed a contract at Greek outfit Aris Thessaloniki shortly after. The 20-year-old could make his full debut against Panathanaikos this weekend and Adu can hardly wait.

"What a great way to play your first game, against the No. 1 team in the league. I can't wait to go out on Sunday. I would really, really love to be a part of that game," said Adu to Associated Press.

"Football in Europe is number one and where it's at its best. This is why I decided to come to Europe.

"I finally have a great chance to play for one of the top-class coaches in the world [in Hector Cuper]. I've only been here for two weeks and I can't believe how much I've learned."
