OFFICIAL: Palermo & Genoa Swap Goalkeepers Marco Amelia & Rubinho

The imposing shot-stoppers have decided to switch teams...
Palermo and Genoa have officially completed the swap of goalkeepers Marco Amelia and Rubinho, the Sicilian club's official website has confirmed.

The two sides have reportedly agreed a straight swap, with no cash going from one side to the other.

The deal has been mooted by the Italian press over the past two days and has now come to fruition. Indeed, the two shot-stoppers have already met up with their new team-mates and started preparing for the 2009-10 campaign.

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini had described Amelia as "acting like a spoilt child" after the Italian international allegedly demanded to leave the team earlier in the summer.

Both players impressed last season, the Grifoni finishing in fifth place in the standings while the Rosanero settled for eighth. This is the latest move in a busy off-season for both clubs.
