It is déjà vu all over again for Roma fans. Just like last summer when a proposed takeover of the club by American businessman George Soros fell apart at the 11th hour, so negotiations with a Swiss group headed by FIFA agent Vinicio Fioranelli have reportedly stalled at the finish line.
The Italian media were convinced the takeover of the heavily indebted Giallorossi would be completed today, but contrary to reports, Rete Sport understands that Fioranelli has failed to provide the necessary credentials to acquire a majority stake in the club and will not be able to do so over the next few hours.
The radio station cites sources close to the banks involved in the negotiations and there are rumours that Italpetroli, the holding company that controls Roma, will shortly release an official statement to confirm the parties have failed to come to an agreement.
