Americans On The Continent: On Display

After an extended period on the sidelines for Rennes, Carlos Bocanegra returned to the pitch in Ligue 1 and Coupe de France action.
In what was viewed by many as an audition for his potential new club Saint Etienne, Carlos Bocanegra started and played the full 90 away to Les Verts in a 0-0 draw.  Bocanegra made his second appearance in a row in the Coupe de France as Rennes easily defeated lower-division Saumur 4-0.

Michael Bradley, Borussia Monchengladbach (Germany)

Michael Bradley and Borussia Monchengladbach battled to a disappointing 0-0 draw with bottom-dwellers Hertha Berlin on Saturday and can consider themselves fortunate to come away with a point after being dominated throughout the match.

Steve Cherundolo, Hannover 96 (Germany)

Away to Mainz, 0-1, 90 minutes

Steve Cherundolo played the full 90 as Hannover fell 1-0 to Mainz courtesy of a fourth-minute Andre Schurrie strike.  Jared Jeffrey was not included in the matchday roster for Mainz.

Goalkeeper David Yelldell was in the stands with an MCL injury as TuS Koblenz fell 4-2 to Arminia Bielefeld.

Kenny Cooper was in the stands for 1860 Munich’s 3-0 win over Hansa Rostock as he also recovers from an MCL injury.
