Thanks for joining our coverage today. Until next time, goodbye.
Arsenal now boast six consecutive wins in all competitions and will look to extend that run against Watford on Saturday, before learning their EFL Cup fate later on the same day. Brentford, meanwhile, are now winless in three and will look to bounce back when they host Reading.
Not the easiest of games for Arsenal but Emery's side put their name in the hat for Saturday's EFL Cup fourth round draw after a 3-1 victory over Brentford. The Championship side gave the Gunners a stern test in the second period but could not fight back after Welbeck's first-half brace and Lacazette's late effort put the game beyond any doubt.

S. Benrahma
O. Watkins

79' Lacazette has seen very little of the ball since his introduction, which is evidence of how much pressure Arsenal find themselves under in the latter stages of the game.

L. Torreira
H. Mkhitaryan

Emery may look to make changes shortly after the break but Welbeck will fancy his chances of getting a hat-trick before potentially making way. Brentford, meanwhile, already look like they would benefit from fresh faces as the players on the pitch have not taken the opportunity handed to them by Smith.
A superb first-half performance from Arsenal, who were quick out of the blocks and have eased their way into a two-goal lead.
