The J.LEAGUE kicked off properly this weekend, which is absolutely excellent news for any Monday afternoon photo roundup fans. The images from these games are always out of this world. Just take this weekend’s Osaka derby.
Despite having Shinji Kagawa, Cerezo Osaka finished six places and 13 points adrift of cross-city rivals Gamba Osaka last season, which only would have made their 5-2 victory at the Suita City Stadium taste all the sweeter.

This VfL Bochum fan would have arrived at his normal spot in the Ruhrstadion on Saturday braced for the worst. But then football happened. Bochum don’t get to bloody the nose of their local rivals often, but Borussia Dortmund were well beaten, thanks to a brace from Giorgos Masouras.

33,208 in attendance for a League of Ireland fixture. Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers didn’t just break the attendance record, they fucking smashed it. Bohs won 1–0, by the way, and Ross Tierney gave it to the Rovers fans after he scored too.
