Happy Monday. Did you sleep well? Did you fend off the Sunday scaries? Arsenal certainly did, swatting aside two Manchester City teams and scoring nine (nine!) goals in the process.

They were this weekend’s main characters, but they were supported by a cast across the world. From Soweto to Southend and from Barcelona to Birmingham, here are all the football images that sent our hearts racing and brains whirring over the past few days.

Alex Pantling

18 years old and taking the piss out of the Nordic meat shield after scoring one of the best goals of the weekend. Don’t worry about staying humble. There’s no need to when you’re this damn good.

Imagine your worst ever day at work. Now imagine it played out in front of 60,000 people who all think you’re a prick.

Naomi Baker

Lotte Wubben-Moy got spun around like a contestant on Total Wipeout in the process of opening the scoring against City before dusting herself off and pointing to the badge. It was the perfect encapsulation of Arsenal’s storybook weekend. Even after getting bodied, they emerged on the other side smelling of roses. A special mention to Stina Blackstenius too, who settled this seven-goal thriller in the WSL. Every Gooner you know is going to be humming North London Forever for the next three days. Just a heads up.

Sittingbourne F.C.

Sittingbourne (eighth tier) should not be beating Southend United (fifth tier), especially on the road. But in front of an overspilling Roots Hall away end, that is exactly what they did. Anthony Church’s 97th-minute winner was our moment of the weekend. "I wasn't coming here just to take part and be part of their entertainment; that's not my style,” gaffer Ryan Maxwell said after the win. “If I'm paid to do a job—like I am here—I'm coming here to win." They’re only two wins from the FA Trophy final at Wembley now. We support The Brickies now.
